Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

Fireplot is an estimation tool for personal planning. It is not tax advice, legal advice, financial advice, or immigration advice. Always consult qualified professionals before making relocation or financial decisions.

1. What Fireplot provides

Fireplot provides estimated calculations of take-home income, tax burden, living costs, and FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) projections across multiple countries. These calculations are based on publicly available tax codes, social security rates, and cost-of-living data.

All figures are estimates, not guarantees. Tax rules change. Living costs fluctuate. Exchange rates move. Your actual results will differ from Fireplot's projections.

2. No professional advice

Nothing on Fireplot constitutes:

Fireplot helps you explore options and understand rough numbers. For decisions involving real money or legal status, work with a licensed professional in the relevant jurisdiction.

3. Data accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to keep tax brackets, social security rates, visa rules, and cost data accurate and up to date. Every figure in Fireplot traces to a public source that we cite. However, we cannot guarantee that all data is current or error-free at all times.

Country tax codes change annually. We aim to update quarterly. If you spot an error, please let us know.

4. FIRE projections

FIRE projections assume your annual surplus is invested in a globally diversified portfolio at a 5% real (inflation-adjusted) return, held in a border-portable global brokerage account, and exclude public pension income. These are standard assumptions in the FIRE community, not predictions of future market performance. Past returns do not guarantee future results.

5. Free and Pro tiers

The Fireplot calculator is free to use with no account required. Fireplot Pro is a paid subscription that adds progress tracking, data saving, custom costs, and alerts.

Pro is billed monthly (EUR 5/month) or annually (EUR 49/year). Founding members who join during early access keep that rate for the life of their subscription, and the number of founding seats is limited. You can cancel in one click at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. New Pro subscriptions can be refunded within 30 days of purchase.

6. Affiliate links

Fireplot includes links to third-party services that may earn us a commission if you sign up. These are clearly presented as "Essentials for your move." We only link to services we believe are genuinely useful for people relocating internationally. Affiliate relationships do not influence our calculations or country rankings.

7. Intellectual property

The Fireplot name, logo, design, and code are the property of Fireplot. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of Fireplot without permission. Tax data sourced from government publications is public domain; our specific compilation, presentation, and calculation engine are proprietary.

8. Limitation of liability

Fireplot is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fireplot and its creator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the tool, including but not limited to financial losses resulting from relocation decisions informed by Fireplot's calculations.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Brussels, Belgium.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of Fireplot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
